چکیده
The exploration of bioactive compounds from natural resources attracts the attention researchers and scientists worldwide. M. longipetala is an annual aromatic herb that emits a pleasant odor during night. Regarding chemical composition biological characteristics, extracts are poorly studied. current study aimed to characterize methanol extract using GC-MS determine its potencies, including capacity for cytotoxicity antioxidant antibacterial activities. In this approach, 37 components were identified, representing 99.98% total mass. major can be classified as oxygenated hydrocarbons (19.15%), carbohydrates (10.21%), amines (4.85%), terpenoids (12.71%), fatty acids lipids (50.8%), steroids (2.26%). identified ascaridole epoxide (monoterpene, 12.71%) methyl (E)-octadec-11-enoate (ester acid, 12.21%). showed substantial activity. Based on DPPH ABTS scavenging, activity extracted revealed leaf most effective with IC50 values 31.47 28.94 mg/L, respectively. On other hand, plant low activities against diverse bacterial species, viz., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus epidermidis, S. haemolyticus, aureus. potent results documented flower E. coli Additionally, extract’s effectiveness HepG2 cells was evaluated in vitro measures MTT, DNA fragmentation, cell proliferation cycle, where it considerable Therefore, we conclude displayed improvement cytocompatibility migration properties. conclusion, could considered potential candidate various promising However, further characterization compounds, particularly recommended evaluate their efficacy, modes action, safety.
